Our PTA

The Marin Elementary School PTA is made up of hard-working parents & teachers who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school.  Our PTA is the building block for the school’s fundraising and community-building activities that support our school.  Now, more than ever, we need you!  We place great value in parent involvement, and we know that our students’ success is greater when parents are involved.  We value the knowledge and insight of our parents and invite all families to join and help make a visible difference in our school community.

We are proud of our strong tradition of parent volunteers!  There are many opportunities to volunteer, and we would love to have you.  We are currently looking for volunteers to help with smaller, task-oriented projects, and also volunteers for our committees. If you are interested in volunteering, or have any questions, please contact the PTA President by email at pres@marinschoolPTA.org

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: I want to donate and be a member, but what will I have to do as a member?

A: You can be involved as much as your time and energy allows. Being a member does not mean you are automatically recruited to be doing something.

Q: Do I have to go to meetings?

A: We hope you will, but it is not required.  We try to make the meetings interesting, often have guest speakers, and always pass along timely, pertinent information about things that are happening at the school and around the district. The principal also gives an update at every meeting. Anyone is welcome to join, but only members can vote.  Meetings are 4 times a year, and this year, will be conducted virtually via zoom.

Q: I have a great idea for the school? Who can I talk to?

A: We love ideas!  And we want to help.  Simply email one of the board members listed above and we will put you in touch with the right people (principal, teachers, district staff, outside resources, other parents, community partners, etc) to get your idea off the ground.

Q: What does PTA even do?

A: The PTA is the building block for the school’s fundraising and community building activities that support our school.  Almost everything extra outside of the classroom is planned for and funded by the PTA, and quite a few things that happen inside the classrooms are made possible by the PTA. Almost every event is a PTA event.

Q: What does the PTA fund?

A: So many incredible things!  Check out this list of programs.

Q: How can I volunteer?

A: We always need volunteers!  We need your special talents, your enthusiasm, your bright minds and creativity, and your willingness to be a part of making our children's school lives better. We have opportunities of all sizes, from smaller tasks to committee members.  Please reach out to any of the board members to see what you can do to help support your child's experience here at Marin!
